“For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.” 1 John 3:11
Have you ever encountered a difficult period in your life and wished that you knew someone to whom you could turn to share your feelings? Most of us have faced this kind of situation at times in our life.
The BeFrienders Ministry of Christ Church is a group of lay persons who have trained to be just that kind of “someone,” a caring friend who listens, empathizes, and serves as a reminder that we are loved and supported by God and our faith community.
BeFrienders listen with compassion, accepting people as they are, treating the relationship with the person befriended in strict confidence. BeFrienders respect others” spiritual journeys, providing companionship and a caring presence. BeFrienders are nonjudgmental and embody the caring presence of God. BeFrienders Ministry is a lay ministry that strengthens and deepens the Christian community at Christ Church.
