On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves, and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 62: 6,7
In her book, "Becoming a Prayer Warrior", Elizabeth Alves tells us that the modern counterpart to the Old Testament watchman is the Intercessor. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 we are called up to "pray without ceasing".
Those who are part of the Intercessory Prayer group commit to praying for one another, our Christian Community and all special needs that are brought to them. Prayer requests stay on the list for 3 months, however, prayers for the military as well as cancer patients continue.
How does one request intercessory prayer?
Each Sunday there is a yellow insert in the bulletin where prayer requests can be indicated and then placed in the offering plate. Prayers can also be requested by spaking with our clergy. Additionally, Margaret Crewes, who is the guiding light of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry may be contacted.
