Dear Friends,
Several times each year we host our friends from CARITAS. Our thanks to one another for making this ministry and these relationships possible.
Through your generosity, our adult CARITAS friends are able to have a comfortable home in the GCC when they are with us. The space is open and welcoming. When it comes time to sleep, the curtain partitions can be drawn creating smaller spaces. The café provides a warm space to sit and visit and relax…a family room, if you will. Because there are showers in the building, no longer do our guests have to wait for a trip to the YMCA to freshen up after a hot day. And the washer and drying make it possible to wash towels and take care of emergency laundering on site.
The GCC is home to our youth ministry. But in April we held our Easter morning breakfast there. In June we used that space in hosting both a diocesan ordination and the national conference for AFRECS. And in July, and earlier in the year in April, some friends who need a place to stay slept there, and were comfortable.
Thank you for your support in the creation of the GCC. It has made a huge difference in our life, and the lives of others; made it possible to do some things and serve in ways that were difficult, if not impossible, before.
The Growing for the Generations Capital Campaign by which we support the creation of the GCC, the creation of the music space, and the expansion of the sanctuary continues through the end of December. We invite one another to pay special intention to completing our commitment to Growing for the Generations over the next several months.
Every pledge matters, and every offering matters.
For more information on the status of your pledge, please contact our Director of Operations, Kathy Nunn, at 364-0394.
As well, please contact Kathy if you would like to make a pledge. There is still time.
And finally, to those of us who have fulfilled, and are fulfilling our commitments, thank you greatly. Our hope is that you experience joy in the fruit of your offering.
It’s a good work that the Lord is blessing, and which is a blessing unto others.
Paul
