Introduction

Christian formation is the process in which our lives are shaped by God through the work of the Holy Spirit. More than education and acquiring knowledge, Christian formation is the process of daily living into our baptismal vows and encountering Christ in the ups and downs of daily life.  Christian Formation encompasses all areas of church life, including worship, prayer, learning, and support and care for one another.

This tradition follows the example of the early church.  In the Acts of the Apostles, we read that the early Christians devoted themselves “ to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread, and the prayers” (2:42).  This lifestyle was a continuation of Jesus' own ministry of gathering his friends around him such that they could be shaped by the shape of his life.

There are many opportunities at Christ Church to grow in your walk with Christ, regardless of where you are on the journey.  In addition to worship, children, youth and adults can take advantage of numerous small groups, Bible Studies, educational offerings, and fellowship activities.

For more information of these opportunities, click on the links to the left, or contact Penny Sellers, Minister of Christian Education and Formation at 364-0394, or p.sellers@christchurchrichmond.com.
