The Accounting Coordinator assists the Business Manager in maintaining and processing financial transactions, working approximately 3 days per week. See the details below. Accounting Coordinator

Reports to: Business Manager
Status: Part Time
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Accounting Coordinator assists the Business Manager in maintaining and processing financial transactions.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares weekly bank deposits
  • Maintains contribution records in REALM database
  • Receives invoices and processes them for payment
  • Prepares monthly financial statement for YTD reporting
  • Verifies and records payroll
  • Record payroll JE after each payroll process
  • Update Payroll for pension submission; and record JE at end of month
  • Code and process accounts payable invoices for payment
  • Collects deposit from church safe, verified before deposit (two person process)
  • Deliver all incoming deposits to bank after recording in REALM (GL)
  • Monitor and process all staff credit card charges (Ensure receipts are received)
  • Print cc. statements, review receipts, code and pay

Other Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries to record recurring entries, corrections or adjustments as needed
  • Prepare reconciliations for ministry balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare giving statements quarterly, and mail those without active emails

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or CPA certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

  • This job must be performed in the church office (Covid restrictions applied)
  • Preferred days are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. (These are negotiable)
  • ·Criminal background check and reference check will be conducted for finalist.
