MSP worship serve volunteer headers MSP

Christ Church uses software called Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) to maintain our worship volunteer schedules.

If you currently serve on a worship ministry team, you're already familiar with MSP. If you are considering serving on a worship ministry team... wonderful! We would love to receive your gifts of time and talent. Please reach out to Laura McNally, Worship and Parish Life Coordinator, to pursure your calling.

Service Spotlight: Acolytes and Acolyte Masters serve our church in a special way

Acolytes are a valuable ministry at Christ Church. By assisting with worship, it's a special way for young people to have a deeper connection with their church. Our church community also enjoys seeing our young people serve as active leaders during worship. The tasks are easy, and the reward is great! Acolytes must be a rising 4th grader or older. Adults are also needed to serve as Acolyte Masters, helping the acolytes on Sunday mornings. Any adult can serve as an acolyte master and many parents of acolytes find this to be a meaningful role.

The basic tasks are listed below. And tell your kiddo not to worry! Training is provided and Acolyte Masters are on hand to help Acolytes on Sunday mornings. We will make sure children and youth feel prepared to serve.

What does an Acolyte do?

  • Light and extinguish the alter candles
  • Carry the cross, banners or torches at the beginning and ending of the service
  • Assist in preparation and helping at communion
  • Assist the clergy in any other tasks during the service

What does an Acolyte Master do?

  • Check in with clergy before worship make acolytes aware of any updates.
  • Fill altar candles with oil & ensure wick on candle snuffer is filled with oil.
  • Assist in reviewing acolyte tasks with the acolyte and make sure they feel prepared to lead in worship.
